Dumpster Rental Whitesville KY
Roll-off dumpsters for Whitesville on KY 54: older-home renovations, farm cleanouts, reroofing and race, school and parish events.
Whitesville is a small city in southeastern Daviess County, about 15 miles from Owensboro on Kentucky Route 54, which runs through the middle of town as its main street. Dr. William White founded it in 1844 and gave it his name. At the 2020 census it had 580 residents inside the city limits, down from a peak of 788 in 1980 but up from 552 in 2010, and many more families live on the farms and subdivisions around it. Whitesville is part of the Owensboro metropolitan area, and we treat it as a scheduled delivery rather than a quick in-town drop.
This page covers what is special about Whitesville, the kinds of dumpster jobs that come up here, the roads we use and what each size costs.

What Whitesville is known for
Kentucky Motor Speedway. The 3/8-mile short track was built in 1960, and an infield figure-eight course was added in 1981. Darrell Waltrip, Michael Waltrip and Jeremy Mayfield all began their racing careers on it. The track was idle from 2005 to 2008 because of bankruptcy and reopened on April 19, 2009. Anyone who has run a race-night concession stand, a pit-area cleanup or a fundraiser here knows how much cardboard, cups and packaging a big weekend leaves behind.
Trinity High School. Trinity was formed in the fall of 1967 when St. William High School from Knottsville merged with St. Mary of the Woods High School in Whitesville. The school anchors community life, and school renovations, fundraisers and move-in days produce their own cleanup needs.
St. Mary of the Woods Parish. The parish holds summer picnics, and the diocese’s 2019 schedule listed two Whitesville picnics, one in late May and one in late September. Large picnics are a good fit for an event dumpster placed beside the grounds.
Historic homes. The James L. Stinnett House on Highway 54 was added to the National Register of Historic Places on December 30, 2019. Older homes like it are the ones most often being repaired, which explains much of our renovation work in town.
Roads and delivery
KY 54 is the spine of Whitesville. It reaches the town from Owensboro about 15 miles to the northwest and continues southeast about 39 miles to Leitchfield. Within town, KY 764 meets KY 54 at Main Cross Street. Many properties front the highway, so the safest delivery is a driveway, yard or farm lane set back from the road. A loaded truck should not be stopping in a lane of traffic, and we will not set a container in the right of way unless the rules allow it. The permit page explains when approval is needed.
Because Whitesville is at the far end of KY 54 in Daviess County, we usually confirm the delivery window the day before. If you are working to a deadline, such as a closing date or a race-weekend setup, book early and tell us the date that matters.
Projects we see in Whitesville
- Older-home renovations. Plaster, lath, wallpaper, old flooring and siding come out of century-old houses. Plaster and tile are heavy, so a 15-yard filled to the line often reaches the weight allowance before it is full.
- Reroofing farmhouses and barns. Large roofs mean large shingle loads, and a 20-yard is common for a whole-roof tear-off. See roofing dumpsters.
- Race, school and parish event cleanup. Weekend events that draw big crowds need a container before and after.
- Farm and acreage cleanouts. Fence rows, old equipment, brush piles, sheds and outbuildings.
- Whole-house and estate cleanouts. A town founded in 1844 has houses that have been in one family for a long time. A 20-yard handles most single-family cleanouts.
- Garage and basement clear-outs. A 10-yard is usually enough for one garage.
A sample Whitesville job
A homeowner is stripping the interior of an older two-story house before a remodel: plaster walls, old carpet over wood floors, a rotted porch floor and a kitchen that is coming out entirely. A 20-yard fits the volume, but plaster is dense, so we advise keeping it to one side of the container and checking the weight limit page. The job runs for about two weeks, which is a normal rental period. The container costs $400 to $550, including delivery and pickup. If the plaster load turns out heavier than expected, the homeowner can call and we will discuss a second smaller container rather than risk an overage.
Know your materials
Old Whitesville homes can contain plaster, cut nails, tin ceilings, slate and layers of roofing. All of these are heavy. Paint, solvents, stains, batteries, tires and other hazardous materials are not allowed, and in an old house you will probably find a shelf of half-used cans, so separate them early. Treated lumber from porches and fences is accepted. If the house is old enough to have lead paint, keep dust down while demolishing and follow normal safety practice; our role is the container, not testing.
Sizes and costs
For a house renovation most Whitesville customers pick a 15-yard ($300 to $450) or a 20-yard ($400 to $550). A large farm cleanup or an outbuilding teardown may need a 30-yard ($500 to $650). A one-garage cleanout fits a 10-yard ($250 to $350). The size guide gives volume examples, and the pricing page explains what changes the price.
Questions from Whitesville customers
Do you serve the area outside the city limits?
Yes. The city itself is under a square mile, and most of our Whitesville customers live in the countryside and subdivisions around it. Give us the street address and we will confirm.
How far in advance should I book for a race weekend?
As early as you can. Event dates fill up, and we want to avoid placing a container on the day traffic is heaviest. Call with the date and the spot.
Can I put a dumpster beside the church or school grounds?
Yes, with the property owner’s permission. Tell us where the truck can turn and where the container will sit, and we will arrange delivery before the event and pickup after.
Is same-day delivery possible out to Whitesville?
Sometimes, when route and container availability allow. Call early in the day and ask what is open for Whitesville, since there is no fixed cutoff. The same-day page explains our limits, and delivery and pickup are included in the price.
What about weight?
Heavy material such as plaster, tile, brick and concrete can reach the weight allowance before the container is full. See weight limits before you load.
Planning around events and the calendar
Speedway race nights, parish picnics and school events do not move to suit your project, and the dates change from year to year, so check with the organizers before you pick a delivery day. For an event, we recommend delivery one or two days ahead and pickup the next business day. For a renovation, the best time to book is as soon as you know your demo start date, because spring and early summer fill up first. Our phone line is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., which gives you a clear window to arrange the details.
Can I use a dumpster for a barn teardown?
Yes. Lumber, tin and the nails in them are fine. Keep any concrete or dirt out of the mix, or tell us how much there is so we can size for the weight. A barn is often a 30-yard job.
What if my driveway is on KY 54 itself?
Then the question is where the truck can pull in and out safely. Describe the entrance when you call. A wide gravel apron is ideal, and a steep or short entrance may need a different spot on the property.
