Dumpster Rental Maceo KY
Roll-off dumpsters for Maceo, about 9 miles northeast of Owensboro near US 60 and US 231, for family-home cleanouts, yard and roofing projects.
Maceo is a small community in northeastern Daviess County, about 9 miles northeast of Owensboro, where Kentucky Routes 2830 and 405 meet near US 60. Only 404 people lived there at the 2020 census, in about 1.5 square miles, so a dumpster here is almost always for a single household, a small farm or a family property rather than a development. Its ZIP code is 42355, and the area codes are 270 and 364.
Maceo has a story that is unusual for a small town. Below we cover that history, the roads our trucks use, the jobs that come up here and the sizes that fit them.

The history behind the name
Maceo was founded by freed slaves just after the Civil War. In 1890 the Louisville, Henderson & St. Louis Railroad built a station and post office here and called it Powers Station, after Colonel J. D. Powers. In 1897 the post office was renamed to honor the Cuban general Antonio Maceo Grajales, at the suggestion of postmaster Edwin P. Taylor. The town still has two cemeteries that tell this history, Kelly Cemetery and Iron Ore Hill Cemetery, and country singer Marty Brown and author Keith Payne are both from Maceo.
That history matters for our work in a practical way. Many Maceo properties have been held by the same families for generations, which means decades of accumulated belongings, outbuildings and tools. Cleaning out a family home is a different, more personal task than a typical remodel, and we try to make the logistics simple.
Roads and access
The Wendell H. Ford Expressway ends at an at-grade intersection with KY 2830 on the northeastern edge of Owensboro, and from there US 60 and US 231 continue east as a divided four-lane highway. That puts Maceo within easy reach of our trucks. US 231 also leads north from Maceo across the William H. Natcher Bridge into Indiana, which opened in 2002. The bridge matters for the larger trucks that serve commercial and industrial jobs in the area.
Most Maceo properties have long driveways or open land, so a container usually has plenty of room. What matters most is a firm surface and a place for the truck to turn. If your property has soft ground, a narrow gate or low wires, tell us and we will plan the delivery around them.
Projects we see in Maceo
- Multi-generation home cleanouts. Houses held by one family for decades. A 15-yard or 20-yard is typical.
- Rural yard and acreage cleanup. Brush, old fencing and storm-downed trees.
- Roofing and siding. Rural roofs are large, so weight is the main factor. Ask for a 20-yard.
- Shop and outbuilding clear-outs. Old machinery parts, lumber and stored equipment.
- Property cleanup before sale or heirs’ division. Clearing a property so it can be listed or split.
- Cemetery-adjacent and church grounds work. Brush and fallen limbs after storms.
A sample Maceo job
A family is preparing a long-held house for sale after a parent’s passing. The house has a full garage, a smokehouse-sized shed, a porch with rotted boards and an attic of boxes. Several relatives will come over two weekends to sort. We suggest a 20-yard, delivered on a Thursday so it is ready for the first weekend, with a call to extend the rental if the second weekend runs long. The price is $400 to $550. We also suggest setting aside items of value in one room so that no one throws them out by mistake.
Sizes and costs
Rural cleanups and roofing usually call for a 20-yard ($400 to $550). Smaller home cleanouts fit a 10-yard ($250 to $350) or 15-yard ($300 to $450). If you have concrete or brick, see heavy-debris dumpsters, which are sized by weight, and the weight limits page for how allowances work.
